GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal Government of Somalia’s Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Mohamed Hassan Bulaale has urged greater involvement of women in national defense and the democratic process, highlighting their contributions to the country’s healthcare sector.

Speaking at a meeting hosted at Madina Hospital in Mogadishu and attended by the Somali Health Women’s Association, Bulaale praised female health workers for their frontline role in improving public health and called for their participation in shaping Somalia’s future.

“Women are not just caregivers, they are nation builders,” said Bulaale. “Their role in the health system is vital, and their voices must also be heard in matters of security and governance.”

The meeting focused on ways to support women’s engagement in the upcoming “one person, one vote” elections and national defense efforts, part of a broader campaign to strengthen inclusive development in Somalia.

The event comes amid ongoing government initiatives to promote gender equality and expand women’s representation in both public service and political life.
