Deputy Speaker unveils 15 member committee to oversee Speaker’s election
The Lower House 1st deputy speaker Abdiweli Mudey has submitted names of 15 MPs who will preside over the election of a new speaker following the resignation of former office holder Mohamed Jawari.
The House will debate the list today to pave way for the exercise which has seen former speaker Aadan Madobe, defense minister Mohamed Mursal and Water minister Salim Ibrow among others field their candidature.
Jawari bowed out early this month following a month long political stand-off pitying himself and PM Minister Hassan Khaire.
