Diarrhoea outbreak in Wisil locality and surrounding areas
Reports from Mudug region state that outbreak of diarrheal disease and malaria in Wisil locality and surrounding areas has left the available health centre overcrowded.
Chief of Wisil locality Ali Hassan told Goobgoog FM that the disease has not only affected people but the livestock in the area has affected by epidemic diarrhea virus.
“The hot and dry season in that has led has led the outbreak of the diseases and that the locals who depend on livestock need urgent medical assistance before the situation becomes tragic” he said.
He urged the federal government of Somalia, local and international humanitarian aid agencies and Diaspora Somali community to deliver emergency support to Wisil residents.
The locals admitted that the outbreak of the disease is attributed to supply of contaminated water.
