Disables in Adado complain of negligence amid holy month of Ramadan
The disabled people in Adado district of Galgadud region accused aid agencies of neglecting to deliver their needs despite many promises while they are now in desperate conditions .
Mahad Hassan Mohamed a spokesperson for the disabled people in Adado who spoke to Goobjoog FM stated that Aid agencies pledged to help the disabiles of the district several times but nothing was done about their needs so far.
He added that more than 50 blind people mostly youth have no access to education or seminars so far while they are ready to learn.
Mr. Mahad mentioned that the blind people including 20 women and children do not have something to eat while in holly month in Ramadan.
They call the administration of Adado, the federal government of Somalia, local NGOs and international aid agencies to support the disables in the region.
The world blind union reported that Somalia does not have a national coordination agency that is responsible for establishing disability policies due to lack of sufficient resources that results to be regarded as burdens to their families.
