Djibouti president mediates Somalia and Somaliland presidents

Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh chair a historic meeting between President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo of Somalia and President Muse Bihi Abdi of Somaliland on Sunday.

“Tomorrow in Djibouti, I will chair a meeting between President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and President Moussa Bihi Abdi to follow up on the mediation efforts between the two leaders. I have also invited Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to attend the discussions.” Said President Ismail Omar Gelleh on Twitter.

A delegation led by Ethiopian Prime minister, Abiy Ahmed Ali and other leaders including AU and EU attends the meeting held in Djibouti’s capital.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Effort hopes the meeting becomes a first step to embrace common gains in which all may prosper through dialogue and remove emotion retained for a long time.

Apart from the reconciliation and agreement, memorable steps must be revealed to plant sustainable peace and political stability between both parties.
