Duale fired as National Assembly majority leader replaced by Amos Muhinga
Garissa Township MP Aden Duale who was also National Assembly majority leader has been replaced Amos Kimunya following a decision made by the party’s Parliamentary Group meeting chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday at the KICC.
The newly replaced, Amos Muhinga Kimunya is a Member of Parliament for Kipipiri Constituency, He was once Kenya’s Minister of Trade also former Minister of Finance from 2006 to July 2008, when he resigned due to the Grand Regency Hotel scandal.
The latest purge comes amid a widening rift between Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto as the national assembly revealed a change in seat positions.
Despite duale’s replacement, Eldas MP Adan Keynan was elected the new Jubilee PG secretary.
The Mandera South MP, Adan Haji who was chairman of the Agriculture committee was removed while Machakos Town MP Victor Munyaka lost the chairmanship of the Sports committee.
Last week DP Ruto hosted a meeting with legislators who have been whipped from various house leaderships in both National Assembly and the Senate.
The move comes barely three weeks after Duale defeated a group of MPs who as petition against him.
