Education Minister spoke about Covid-19 impact on education sector in Somalia
The Minister of Culture and Education, Abdullahi Godah Barre held meeting with the members of the National Education Umbrella through Zoom system in Mogadishu on Tuesday.
The Minister reported on the ministry’s efforts to prevent the effects of Covid_19 on education and discussed the National High School Examination process plan to all educational stakeholders.
“Today I held a meeting with National Education Umbrella officials with UN secretary Jame swan and consulted on the National High School Examination as we agreed and recommend the same protocol for all education sectors,” Minister Barre said.
The Ministry of Education commanded on teachers to teach lessons through online classes in all schools to avoid the risk of the infection which is continuously spreading in the country.
COVID 19 resulted delayed in Somalia’s education performance since the deadly pandemic reported in the country.
According to the health ministry daily report, 34 new cases of novel coronavirus recorded on Monday bringing the total number the patients to 756 and 35 death.
