EgyptAir to Launch Cairo-Mogadishu Flights as it Announces New Routes

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: EgyptAir has said all is set for its inaugural Cairo-Mogadishu flights scheduled to start on Friday.  

The Airline said the move is part of its wider strategy in its strategic expansion into East Africa and globally saying it will also introduce direct flights to Djibouti and Abidjan.

According to a statement issued by the airline, its inaugural flight MS873 will depart from Cairo at 6:30 AM local time on Friday, with a stopover in Djibouti, before continuing to Mogadishu.

The Egyptian national carrier will also operate biweekly flights on this new route, enhancing connectivity between Cairo and Mogadishu, further enhancing economic and diplomatic relations between Egypt and Somalia.

The new route is expected to bolster economic relations by promoting trade, tourism, and investment opportunities between Egypt and Somalia.

Other routes recently introduced by the Egyptian carrier are Lisbon, Zurich and Prague.

The flights will operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays, departing from Cairo International Airport at 18:15 with flight number MS795.

Return flights from Lisbon International Airport will take off at 23:00 with flight number MS796.
