Elections of three Lower House seats to take place in Mogadishu

Somaliland and northern regions will elect three more candidates to the House of the People in the latest round of voting.

153 electoral college delegates in the Somali capital will cast their ballots in the final stage of voting for representatives of the country’s Lower House.

The voting in Mogadishu is carrying out amid tight security provided by Somali security forces and AMISOM Police.

Somaliland is the only region yet to complete the electoral process. Jubbaland, HirShabelle, South West State, Galmudug Benadir and Puntland have filled seats allocated to them in the Upper House and the House of the People.
