Eritrea president Afwerki to visit Mogadishu
President Isaias Afwerki of Eritrea is today expected to pay an official state visit to Mogadishu to further strengthen the historical ties between the two brotherly nations.
President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo decision to invite President Afwerki Abdullahi marks a new chapter for the countries.
The two Head of States are expected to have bilateral discussions on areas of mutual benefit between the two countries.
President Farmajo paid the last visit to Eritrea on last September for a tripartite summit in the capital Asmara.
Previously on July President Farmajo’s three days historic visit to Asmara, the two leaders have agreed to resume their diplomatic ties and open embassies in their capitals.
The two nations have not had diplomatic ties for nearly 15 years.
