EU, US lauds confirmation of Somalia’s newly-formed cabinet

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The European Union has lauded the confirmation of the cabinet appointed by Somalia’s Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre.

In a tweet, the European embassy in Somalia congratulated the newly confirmed Cabinet and reiterated its commitment to work “closely with Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre and his new line-up of Ministers in support of Somalia.”

The United States on Sunday also welcomed the confirmation of the newly formed 81-member cabinet, congratulating the Somali President Sheikh Mohamud and his Premier on the confirmation of their selections for the new Cabinet. 

“We congratulate President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre on the confirmation of their selections for the new Cabinet. The United States is eager to continue our engagement in support of Somalia’s revival,” read the twitter post.
