Ex-Intelligence Chief Sanbaloolshe Wins Somali Parliamentary Seat

GOOBJOOG NEWS | JOWHAR: Somalia’s former intelligence chief, Abdullahi Mohamed Ali Sanbaloolshe, has secured a seat in the federal parliament following a decisive win in elections held in Hirshabelle State.
Sanbaloolshe, who previously served as head of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), was elected to the House of the People after receiving 98 out of 101 delegate votes.
His sole challenger, Ismail Warsame, failed to garner significant support, while three delegates abstained.
The results were certified by Abdi Addow Mohamed of the National Independent Electoral Commission (NIEC), who handed Sanbaloolshe his election certificate in a brief ceremony.
The victory marks Sanbaloolshe’s return to Somalia’s 11th Parliament and signals a renewed role in national politics following his tenure in security leadership.
