Explosion hits AMISOM convoy in Mogadishu

Reports from Ex-control Balcad of Hilwaa district in Mogadishu indicate that there was a landmine explosion targeted on a vehicle belonging to AMISOM convoy passing the area.

Witnesses at the site have confirmed that the explosion was very strong and has caused serious damages but not AMISOM casualties were mentioned.

Following the attack, AMISOM forces have started firing on civilians near the site and killed three people and injured more than that.

AMISOM forces have blocked the site of the explosion and refused the public transport vehicles and private cars to access the roads.

The situation of the area is now calm after the AMISOM convoy has left the area and the federal government security have reached the site.
