Explosives-laden vehicle blows up at Zoobe area

A vehicle suspected to have been fitted with explosives blew up in front of Safari Hotel at Zoobe area in Mogadishu Saturday.

Pictures from the scene show a vehicle at the entrance of Safari hotel engulfed in fire. A woman who was passing by was injured. The owner of the vehicle was not in the car at the time of the blast.

Two blasts went off in succession at about noon sending plumes of dark smoke into the air.

The area was the scene of the deadly truck bombing in October 2017 killing over 500 people.
