Federal government: Al-shabab members should surrender within 45 days
The federal of Somalia has vowed to continue Indian ocean operation against Al-shabab in Somalia after the cabinet hold extraordinary meeting in Mogadishu last night. The government said the planned operations are going on
After the meeting was concluded national security minister Khalif Ereg told the media that the federal government is committed to push Al-shabab out of Somalia through massive operations.
The government has also offered amnesty and urged the members of Al-shabab both brain washed and the top leaders to surrender to the government within 45 days.
The federal government has also called the religious leaders and intellectuals to take their respective roles of guiding the youth to the right path.
This extraordinary meeting of Somali cabinet comes a time US airstrike hit Al-shabab bases in Lower Shabelle and Hiran regions and al-shabab lost the control of many areas through Indian ocean operation launched by government forces and African union peace-keeping troops.
