Federal Government Announces Plan to Hire 3,000 New Teachers

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Federal Government of Somalia has announced plans to hire 3000 new teachers to bolster the quality of education in the country.

According to Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, the need for more teachers was noted by the government after the recently concluded High School examinations conducted under the Ministry of Education, Culture and Higher Education.

He added that the ministry has issued an elaborate outline on the mode which will be used in recruiting the teachers who are already registered with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Higher Education.

He assured that the process will be competitive, fair, and transparent and that the ministry will ensure that only the best candidates are selected.

“Last week, high school examinations were concluded successfully across the country. The ministry has initiated plans to recruit 3000 teachers. The recruitment process will be transparent and competitive and is aimed at selecting the best teachers to be employed in various schools across the country,” the Prime Minister said.  

He stated that the federal government is committed to improve the quality of education in the country and ensure the country has world-class professionals to fill job openings in various sectors.
