Federal Government Ramps up Autism Care on World Autism Day

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Federal Government of Somalia has stated that it is dedicated to addressing the challenges facing children living with autism in the country.

Speaking in Mogadishu during a function to commemorate World Autism Day, Federal Government of Somalia’s Health and Social Services Minister Ali Hajji Adam said that his ministry will take an active role in monitoring the children’s well-being.

 “It is imperative that we develop a focused policy for children with Autism to ensure they receive the comprehensive care they require,” said the Minister.

The event, organized by the Mustaqbal Special Needs Center, brought to light the critical importance of specialized care for children with this condition.

The minister, while praising the efforts of the Mustaqbal center, called for the establishment of more facilities capable of providing essential medical services to children with autism.

He added that the initiative is part of the Ministry’s broader commitment to improving the health landscape of Somalia and achieving national health development goals.
