Federal Government Steps Up Stabilization Efforts in Lower Shabelle

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Federal Government of Somalia is intensifying stabilization and early recovery initiatives in Lower Shabelle, focusing on the strategic Sabiid–Awdheegle corridor.

Abdulkadir Ali, Director General of the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, highlighted that coordinated interventions are underway to consolidate gains in newly liberated areas and provide support to affected communities.

Ongoing initiatives include humanitarian assistance, rehabilitation of community housing, strengthened engagement with local residents, and enhanced institutional support for local authorities.

The Director General emphasized that these efforts aim to deliver tangible peace dividends, restore essential services, and reinforce governance in districts emerging from extremist control.

The stabilization drive in Lower Shabelle is part of broader national efforts to improve security, strengthen local institutions, and accelerate recovery in recently liberated regions.
