Federal Ministries Endorse Centralized Approach to Data and Services
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Federal Government of Somalia’s Unified Governance Committee opened its first session on Monday with ministries agreeing to push forward a coordinated plan to harmonize government systems and strengthen cooperation across state institutions.
Chaired by Communications and Technology Minister Mohamed Somali, the meeting brought together senior representatives from key ministries and federal offices to address longstanding challenges caused by fragmented procedures and weak information flow within government.
Discussions focused heavily on reducing duplication in administrative work, accelerating the adoption of modern governance tools, and improving the way ministries share and manage official data. Officials emphasized that inconsistent systems have slowed service delivery, undermined efficiency and made it harder for institutions to work toward shared national goals.
By the close of the meeting, members had reached a unified understanding: government systems must be brought under a common framework, state data and public services need to be managed through a centralized structure, and greater transparency and accountability must guide all federal institutions going forward.
Participants described the outcomes as a significant step toward building a more connected, reliable and citizen-centered administration. The committee is expected to follow up with further sessions to oversee progress and shape the next phase of Somalia’s governance reforms.
