Federal MP: Puntland has revoked numerous agreements signed with Galmudug
A member of federal parliament of Somalia has suggested that the disagreement between Puntland Galmudug administrations in Central Somalia should not affect the forthcoming conference of establishing unified administration for Mudug and Galgadud administration in Adado district.
Mohamed Hussein Noor, member of federal parliament said Puntland administration is against the plans of creating an inclusive administration for Mudug and Galgadud regions.
The MP stated that Puntland administration has severally revoked agreements signed between the two administrations aimed at promoting the security of the region.
The tensions between the two administrations has caused the flights in Galkayo airport to stop. Qeydiid has warned of fresh clashes in Galkayo in a letter he sent to the top government leaders and UN.
On Saturday Prime minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed Mohamed in a press statement urged Puntland and Galmudug administrations to end their difference through peaceful discussion and refrain from anything that might incite clashes in the region.
He also called the two sides to without conditions allow the normal flights of Galkayo and start discussions to end the airport arguments.
The state formation conference is due to open in Adado, the administrative capital of Himan & Heb administration.
