Federal MP says Beledweyne floods are unprecedented
Somali Federal MP Zanyb Mahammed Amir has termed floods in Beledweyne as “unimaginable” and “devastating” and calls Somali Diaspora community to act quickly to contain the situation before it goes worst.
Speaking to Goobjoog News the Federal MP became emotional several times on her talk and called residents of Hiiran region who are submerged by floods to let aside their differences and unite for rescuing of Beledweyne people.
“The floods in Beledweyne become disaster. The city is on the edge of Humanitarian crises. Every day the water scale is rising” said the MP
The MP criticized the lack of response by the International aid organization and the Somali Federal government.
“No touchable aid that victims of the floods did receive except some help from Djibouti government. Either federal government nor International aid organization delivered help to these victims” said the MP
River floods displaced 90% of Beledweyne resident and live outside the city for last four weeks.
