Federal Parliament speakers land in Dhusamareb to bolster President’s war efforts

GOOBJOOG NEWS|DHUSAMAREB: Speakers of the Federal Parliament have this morning landed in Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug state to join President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in bolstering support for the ongoing war against Al-shabaab.

Lower House speaker Adan Madobe and his Senate counterpart Abdi Hashi arrived in Dhusamareb in their maiden joint visit to the central Somalia town which has become the President’s war command centre.

According to sources privy to the visit, the two leaders will be briefing the President on key legislative processes to back the war efforts and shower up support for the President’s mission.

The President will also be briefing the two speakers on the progress so far. The visit by the two top leaders to Dhusamareb is also seen as an important sign of support for the war and indication of a collective effort by all arms of government.

President Mohamud has been operating in Dhusamareb since August 5 where he has been overseeing the war. He has also visited several towns and villages which have been liberated from Al-Shabaab control.
