Finance Minister Egeh Says Reforms Key to Building Sustainable Future

GOOBJOOG NEWS | NAIROBI: Somalia’s Finance Minister Bihi Iman Egeh has said that the country’s economic reforms are vital to securing long-term stability and development, as he met ambassadors from partner nations in Nairobi.
Egeh told envoys that Mogadishu remained committed to transparency and collaboration in its financial system, stressing that reforms were already helping modernize revenue collection and improve governance. He said the government’s goal was to channel these gains into projects that deliver direct benefits to Somali citizens.
“Our priority is to ensure that reforms translate into meaningful change for the Somali people,” Egeh said.
Diplomats at the meeting praised Somalia’s progress since debt relief and pledged continued backing for the government’s economic agenda.
