First group of Somali soldiers based in Eritrea arrive in Mogadishu
GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The first batch of Somali troops who had undergone military training and stayed in Eritrea for about three years has arrived in Mogadishu.
This afternoon, the plane carrying the soldiers landed at Aden Adde Airport in Mogadishu. The number of soldiers was not immediately apparent.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud announced on Monday that the soldiers will be returning this month with the last group expected to arrive in the country later in February.
There are an estimated 5,000 soldiers who were trained in Eritrea.
