Somalia Opens Mogadishu School for Visually Impaired Students

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia has inaugurated a new school for visually impaired students in Mogadishu, a step hailed as a milestone for inclusive education in the country.
The Al Basiir School for the Blind opened this week with a ceremony attended by community leaders and educators, where students who excelled in recent exams were also honoured with awards.
Speakers, including principal Ismail Ahmed Ali and head teacher Ms. Isma’il, said the school would help empower blind students to reach their potential and contribute to society.
Officials and guests said the initiative reflects growing recognition of the need to expand access to education for all Somali children, including those with disabilities.
