Five Al-Shabaab Fighters Killed in Galgaduud Operation

GOOBJOOG NEWS|GALGADUD: At least five Al-Shabaab militants were killed and several others, including some of their leaders, were wounded in a security operation carried out by the Galmudug Darwish Forces in Galgaduud region.

The operation, led by the Galayr Battalion, targeted militant hideouts in the areas of Ceelahelay and Dhaban-Dhulkuheys. Commanders on the ground said the troops struck Al-Shabaab bases and tunnels, forcing the fighters to abandon their positions.

Reports from the area indicate that the militants fled towards nearby villages around Ceelgaras as the Galmudug forces maintained pressure on their retreating units.

Security officials said the operation is still underway, with troops conducting searches to clear remaining threats and reinforce stability in the region.
