Foreign Affairs Minister Attends African Union Summit in Ethiopia

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal Republic of Somalia’s Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation minister Ali Mohamed Omar is in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to attend the 44th Summit of the African Union.

The Minister is also scheduled to attend a crucial committee minsters meeting for African candidates in the international system.  

“I have arrived in Addis Ababa, where I will hold a meeting of the important committee of ministers for African candidates in the international system. In addition, I will participate in the 44th Summit of the African Union and I will represent Somalia, eager to help shape the role of Africa in the world,” A statement posted by the minister on his X (twitter) reads.

This comes amidst tension between Somalia and Ethiopia regarding the recent agreement between Ethiopia and Somaliland.
