Former Somali minister Jamal Hassan picked as the director for the IGAD Centre of Excellence

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Jamal Mohamed Hassan, the former minister of planning and foreign investment, has been picked as the new director of the IGAD Centre of Excellence for Climate Adaptation and Environmental Protection.
For the past ten years, Jamal Mohamed Hassan has played a significant role in Somali politics. From 2015 to 2017, he served as the Somali ambassador to Kenya following his appointment by President Hassan Sheikh. He has also been a MP for the past five years.
Before working for the government, Jamal served as the Senior Political Advisor to the United States Special Representative for Somalia (SRS) on political affairs and related democracy, governance, and human rights issues.
