Four Suspects in Possession of Truck-Loads of Hashish Nabbed in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Security forces in Mogadishu have arrested four suspects after they were found with loads of hashish, a drug substance that is illegal in the country.

The Somali Police Force said the suspects were arrested in Gubadley district in Mogadishu in possession of seven truckloads of the drug substance.

It added that the suspects intended on distributing the drugs to various secret outlets in the city to be sold. The suspects were also in possession of firearms.

The origin of the drugs was not immediately clear. Drug abuse especially among street children in Mogadishu has increased in recent years.
