Galkaayo local authority opens new animal market

Local government officials and livestock traders have inaugurated new animal market in Galkaayo town of mudug region, central somalia.

The new market is meant for the selling goats and sheep for local consumption.

Galkaayo mayor, Hirsi Yusuf Barri who officially opened the market has called local traders and butchers to make use the market.

“We can no longer tolerate those people who sell animal in the public places like in the streets, now as you can see this market serves all of your purposes. Please do not try to sell animal in the public” said Mayor Hirsi Yusuf

Local animal traders on their side praised Galkaayo local government and the mayor for building the market.

Animal trade is lucrative in Galkaayo but selling animal in the busy streets affected the movement public.
