A group of Puntland forces have attacked and stormed into a bank in northern Galkaayo amid reports the soldiers were demanding their dues.
Goobjoog News correspondent in the town said the soldiers also sent away staff of the bank and closed all linking roads to the bank. The bank is run by the government of Puntland.
The troops took control of the central town of Galkayo, saying they were part of the Puntland security forces that they were not paid their salary for the last months.
There was no official comment from Puntland authorities regarding the development.
