Galmudug administration bans arms in Adado
The local administration of Adado town has issued a ban on holding and carrying illegal weapons in and around the town.
The ban was imposed after an altercation between two groups in town days ago.
The deputy president of Galmudug State, Mohamed Hashi, who spoke to Goobjoog news, said that his administration has banned carrying of illegal arms in the town in a bid to beef up the security of the town.
Hashi said the security forces have been given the order to apprehend people any person found using illegal arms including arms dealers in the town.
“Anyone found to be guilty of holding illegal gun will be prosecuted and imprisonment or fines,” said Hashi.
Local residents said most of the weapons seized during the raids were kept by them at home for own security and that they weren’t heavy or lethal ones.
The Somali security officers in the town say they have put new security measures into practice to help boost the efforts to bring peace and stability in the city.
