Two Men Sentenced to Death Over Killing of Mother, Daughters in Galgaduud

GOOBJOOG NEWS | DHUSAMAREB: A regional appeals court in Galgaduud has confirmed death sentences for two men found guilty of murdering a mother and her three daughters near Qaayib, reinforcing one of the strongest punishments issued in Galmudug.

The Galgaduud Regional Appeal Court ruled that Cabdi Cismaan Cabdullaahi and Gallad Axmed Xuseen will be executed by firing squad after judges upheld the prosecution’s case during final hearings. A third defendant, Ayuub Maxamed Cabdi, received a five-year prison term.

The court said the decision followed detailed review of evidence, arguments from both sides and witness testimony. Officials noted that the ruling aims to send a clear message that severe crimes, especially those involving families and children—will be met with the harshest legal penalties.

Galmudug authorities stressed that the verdict reflects their commitment to justice and to restoring public confidence after a crime that deeply unsettled the community.
