Galmudug President Appoints New Committee Assign To Prepare State Plans
The newly elected Galmudug president Abdikarim Hussein Guled and vice president, Mohamed Hashim Arabay have taken meeting in the Adado.
The two appointed the first new committee which assigned for the preparation the state government’s programs and plans.
The committee was named after the president took consultation with civil society members, traditional elders and former administration such as Himan and Heb.
Galmudug leader being pressurized from different sides, the two main antagonists being Ahlu-Sunna waljama’a, Somali Islamist group which controls large swaths of Mudug and Galgaduud regions and Semi-autonomous regional state of Puntland State which share border with the newly formed stated.
Both Ahlu-Sunna and Puntland declined to recognize Galmudug State as de jure.
Ahlu-Sunna group publicised that it has nominated president for areas under its rule whereby Somali central state formation conference spearheaded by Somali government, is progressing towards its final stages.
On 10th last month, Somali moderate Islamist group, Ahlu-Sunna Waljamaa, had vacated Galnudug state formation conference.
Speaking to Goobjoog News, its leader Sheikh Ibrahim Gurre, who was among the signatories to Somali central State formation conference put blame on Somali minister for internal affairs, Abdirahman Odawaa.
“The internal minister is a naive young boy who is new in the political arena so i have no answer for him” he said.
He added that they do not recognize the government “this government is not representing us.
