Galmudug president returns home after heart surgery in Delhi

The president of Galmudug State, Abdikarim Hussein Guled has landed in Mogadishu’s airport on Monday after spending a month recuperating from open heart surgery in India’s New Dalhi.

“The president has arrived safely after an absence of  a month because of heart surgery in India” said a source to close the president.

He was welcomed by Somali prime minister, Omar Ali Sharma’ark, regional leaders of Puntland, Jubbaland and Southwest who have been in Mogadishu for the last three days to the Leadership Consultative Forum (LCF).

President Guled traveled the Indian capital, New Delhi last month after heart-related complications.

Thousands of Somalis seek medical attention in India every year after they are referred by local hospitals to abroad health facilities.
