Garowe Local Authority Takes Measures To Clear Away Standing Water On Streets
Garowe local government is to prevent standing water on the streets and suburbs of town after heavy downpour in the recent days. The decision by local government is aimed to promote the general hygiene of population and to prevent the communicable diseases in wet seasons.
Abdirashiid Wayel who is the head of Garowe local government for social affairs stated that the very aim of program is to completely clear away the standing water and to make Garowe more appealing city. He urged Garowe residents to not resort any action that could block the drainages and he warned the consequence of anyone blocking water flow. Standing water is associated with health risks and its common phenomenon that needs close attention by all local governments in the country
