Goobjoog journo sent to prison without charges

Goobjoog Media Group journalist Abdiaziz Gurbiye has this afternoon been transferred to the Central Prison in Mogadishu without charges.

The presiding judge at Banaadir Regional Court ordered that Gurbiye who was arrested yesterday be sent to the prison. It was not immediately clear how long and for what reason the journalist was sent to a prison.

The court was expected to hear the case against the journalist today but in a strange turn of events and in contravention of the law, the court sent to prison an accused person without hearing the case.
