Government forces and AMISOM conducts operations in Wadajir district
Government forces backed African Union peace-keeping troops have conducted dawn operation in Wadajir district on Wednesday.
AMISOM troops blocked the main roads in the district while government forces were searching houses and asking questions to the people.
Unspecified number of people were arrested as Wadajir district commissioner Ahmed Abdule Afrah confirmed to Goobjoog FM.
The commissioner stated that his administration will conduct through investigations on the apprehended youth adding that the operation in the district are part of the government’s plan to maintain the overall security of the capital.
The dawn operations have affected the public transport and business activities in the district as the residents fearing to be arrested stayed indoors until the crackdown stopped.
