Government Forces arrest Al-shabab Ring Leader in El-Buur

Somali security forces in El-Buur town have arrested Al-Shabab ring leader after the forces launched security operation in the outskirt of the town.

The commander of the security forces, Ahmed Hassan Araale speaking to Goobjoog News said that member of the Somali security forces raided a house located outside the town where the ring leader of the group was resting.

“Our intelligence in the town got the information that a senior Al-Shabaab commander is living in the outskirt of the town and plans to launch series of violent attacks. We carefully monitored the house he was in and finally launched a raid and arrested him.” He said.

Al-Shabab has yet to comment on the development.

According to analysis’s, it could be a breakthrough as this would help destabilize Al-Shabab cells in the region.

Government forces in have been the hardest hit by Al-Shabab guerrilla war which they started after they lost large parts of territory.
