Government promises to invest more in sports
GOOBJOOG NEWS | JEDDAH: Sports minister Mohamed Barre Mohamud has underscored the importance of sports in mitigating the challenges faced by the youth in Somalia.
Speaking during the 46th meeting of the Arab League Sports and Youth Ministers in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the minister said sports was a very important capital and that it plays a key role in uplifting the lives of the youth in areas that have been liberated from the Al-Shabaab militants.
He thanked the Saudi government for supporting the efforts by Somalia to assist youth who are greatly affected by the activities of the Al-Shabaab terror group.
