Governor of Banaadir region Survives Explosion

The Governor of Banaadir region and mayor of Mogadishu Hassan Mohamed Hussein Muungab has this evening survived after landmine explosion targeted his vehicle in Mogadishu.

The roadside explosion targeted the governor’s car when he was driving in siisii areas, Yaaqshiisd District of Banaadir region.

Banadir regional administration officials who spoke to the media confirming the incident said the Mayor was unharmed, stating that two civilians who ware passing the road at the time died and two others sustained injuries in the explosion.

No group claimed the responsibility of the attack.

The attack is the first against Banaadir Governor, Hassan Mohamed Hussein who was appointed as the Mayor of Mogadishu and the Governor of Benadir region earlier this year.
