Halgan village commissioner: we have killed more than 200 Alshabab fighters

The commissioner of Halgan village which Alshabab militants attacked early hours of this Thursday says they have literally massacred Alshabab.

Guhad Abdi warsme in an interview with Goobjoog Radio said he  personally counted the dead bodies of at least 197 Alshabab fighters. “We have killed dozens of Alshabab militants; I have personally counted 197 bodies. I can tell you we  have killed more than 200 Alshabab fightes” said Halgan.

Hundreds of Alshabab fighters attacked an Ethopian military base in the village from two directions after a suicide track hit the base.

Meanwhile AMISOM said on its twitter account that joint forces (Somali National Army and AMISOM troops) drove back Alshabab fighers and assortment of weapons captured.

Alshabab military wing spokesman Abdi-aziz Abou Mus’ab told Reuter news agency that his fighters killed 43 Ethiopian military soldiers in the attack.

At least three civilians confirmed dead and ten others wounded in the attack.

Communications lines closed and wounded civilians are still trapped in the village.
