Hamas Reaffirms Commitment to Gaza Ceasefire Amid Rising Tensions

GOOBJOOG NEWS | GAZA: Hamas has declared its readiness to move forward with the next phases of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, signaling a potential shift in the ongoing conflict.

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem stated that the group, responding to a mediator’s request, had agreed to double the number of Israeli hostages set for release.

This move, he emphasized, underscores Hamas’s commitment to the truce deal despite mounting pressure.

However, Qassem firmly dismissed Israeli demands for Hamas to vacate Gaza, labeling them a tactic in a “psychological war.”

Meanwhile, Israel’s public broadcaster reported that Netanyahu has officially initiated negotiations for the second phase of the ceasefire deal, briefing the Security Cabinet on the latest developments.
