Heavy rain causes flooding and fatalities in Mogadishu

Heavy rain flooded Somalia’s capital Mogadishu that caused the building to collapse which kills four children and their grandparents at Wadajir district in Banadir region last night.

Another group from the family has been rescued following emergency support made by the neighbouring families.Although Benadir regional administration has not yet commented on the incident, the most affected families have been evacuated from their homes.

Some of the highway roads blocked by the floods resulted in public transport vehicles movement restriction in the capital on Monday.

The downpour in Mogadishu on Monday left residents of IDP camps counting losses after floodwaters washed houses and rendered paths difficult to cross.
