Hiiraan administration to intervene over clan clashes in the region
Delegates including local officials and traditional elders will be dispatched to Mahas town to intervene and resolve the renewed clashes in some areas of Hiraan region, the administration said.
Speaking to Goobjoog News, Hiraan deputy governor, Hussein Osman Ali said that it is the right time for the administration to play it role to ease the conflicts that erupted in areas under Mahas town.
“We want to intervene and to bring lull which can lead to complete cease fire. We want to call both sides to the negotiating table to iron out their differences,” he said.
The situation is calm and things returned back to normal after the battle between the clan militias subsided.
Three people killed and more than ten others were injured after two clan militias engaged in fighting in areas under Mahas town.
