Hiraan region governor urges SNA soldiers to keep momentum in war against Al-shabaab

GOOBJOOG NEWS | OYA-MAGO: Hiraan region Governor Abdullahi Ahmed Maalim Sufurow has urged the Somali National Army troops to maintain their momentum in the war against the Al-shabaab militants.

The Governor, alongside Hirshabelle transport and aviation minister Muse Salad Wehilye and other government officials visited the National Army’s frontline at Oya-Mago in the region to boost morale of the soldiers in the war.

The governor expressed confidence on the National Army’s capabilities to completely eradicate the militants from all regions across the country and restore peace and stability for the Somali people.

The visit also provided an opportunity for the governor and his delegation to rally local forces behind the National Army to work together in defending the area noting that the combined efforts of the two sides had recently thwarted several attempts by the millitants to launch attacks in the region.

Governor Surufow further assured the National and regional forces of government’s support in provision of both moral support and equipment to enable them effectively tackle and eliminate the threat posed by the militants.

The Governor’s visit also underscores the government’s determination to enhance the National and local forces’ capabilities in readiness for the next phase of the war against the militants scheduled to kick off in a few weeks to come.
