Hirshabelle elections committee announces schedule for upcoming polls

GOOBJOOG NEWS/JOWHAR: Hirshabelle elections committee has announced the schedule for the two parliamentary seats up for  election in Jowhar, the capital of Hirshabelle.

A statement from the committee said that the training and registration of candidates will take place between 2nd and 5th February while the by-elections will be held on 6th.

The seats to be held in Jowhar are:

1. HOP 070 held by Adan Ali Hassan

2. HOP 115 held by Ali Mohamed Omar 

Hirshabelle on Monday held elections in Jowhar town for the first six members of parliament, which saw notable figures like Khadija Diriye retaining her seat for the sixth time in a row.
