HirShabelle parliament to elect new senators on September 13

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The Hirshabelle Parliamentary Election Implementation Committee has released the election schedule for the members of the Upper House of the Federal Parliament of Hirshabelle State.

Registration of candidates for the upper house of parliament will begin on the 9th of September, today, and will end on Thursday 16th.

According to the schedule released by the Electoral Implementation Committee, the Upper House elections in Hirshabelle will commence from September 13  to September 15.

After a series of delays, President Ali Gudlawe finally submitted the list of candidates for the Upper House of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, with  25 candidates facing off for the eight seats .

One of the hotly contested seats is the one currently held by Senator Muse Sudi with a total of  four candidates eyeing to unseat the current senator.
