Hirshabelle Regional Administration Announces Launch of Offensive Against Al-Shabaab

GOOBJOOG NEWS | JOWHAR: The Hirshabelle Regional Administration has announced plans to launch major military operations against the Al-Shabaab militant group in the western part of Hiran region.

Hirshabelle regional leader Ali Abdullahi Hussein said the move comes as part of ongoing efforts to stabilize and secure the region.

The president who made the comments following a series of meetings with the community and local administration officials in the Jalalaqsi district also stressed the need for coordinated efforts between the Hirshabelle administration and the Federal Government.

“The community living in Hirshabelle needs to be prepared to liberate the west. Both the federal government and the regional administration are doing their utmost to ensure the success of this operation. Our strength lies in our unity, and we must work together to reclaim the west,” the regional leaders said.

The statement is part of Hussein’s broader strategy to bolster security in the region, particularly in areas recently freed from Al-Shabaab’s control where he launched projects and visited last week.

His visits to various districts have focused on assessing the situation and rallying support for the planned offensive.
