HirShabelle state assembly elects presidential election committee following ouster of leader

HirShabelle state assembly today elected a presidential election committee comprising of 7 members to oversee the election of a new president following the ouster of immediate former president Abdullahi Ali Osoble through a no confidence vote.

The assembly sitting in Jowhar chaired by Speaker Sheikh Osman Barre Wednesday elected the seven lawmakers to prepare the House for the poll which will be done within the next 30 days.

A section of MPs allied to Osoble last evening elected their own speaker and are set to elect deputies today.

Meanwhile Osoble who has rubbished the Monday vote is reported to be still in the presidential villa.
